Welcome to the Friends
of the Coppell Public Library
The purpose of the Friends of the Coppell Public Library shall be to:
Maintain an organization of persons interested in libraries,
Focus public attention on the library,
Stimulate the use of the library’s resources and services,
Receive and encourage grants, gifts, endowments and bequests to the library,
Support and cooperate with the library in developing library services and facilities for the community, and
Support the freedom to read as expressed in the American Library Association Bill of Rights.

Our Officers
President
The duties of the President shall be to preside over meetings and to appoint all committees. The President shall be an ex-officio member of all committees with the exception of the Nominating Committee.
Vice President Membership
The duties of the Vice President Membership shall be to perform the duties of the President in the absence of the President. The Vice President Membership shall serve as Chairman of the Membership Committee, shall recruit new members and shall keep a current list of members with contact information.
Vice President Communications
The duties of the Vice President Communications shall be to establish and implement a communications plan to promote the Friends vision, mission, and any activities sponsored by the Friends.
Vice President Book Sales and Revenue
The duties of the Vice President Book Sales and Revenue shall include, but not be limited to, coordinating and implementing all Friends book sales and sales of Friends merchandise.
Secretary
The duties of the Secretary shall be to record attendance at all meetings, to take the minutes of all meetings, to notify the members of the time and place of meetings, and to conduct the correspondence of the Friends of the Coppell Public Library. The Secretary shall perform the duties of the President in the absence of both President and Vice-President, appointing a temporary Recording Secretary.
Treasurer
The duties of the Treasurer shall be to account for the funds of the Friends, present an annual budget to the Board for approval, monitor the deposit and expenditure of funds in accordance with the approved budget, see that full and accurate records are kept; publish a report at the Annual Meeting; maintain a duplicate set of records for safekeeping in the Library; file all required reports with governmental authorities. All checks shall be signed by either the Treasurer or the President or such other person as may be designated by the Executive Board for general expenses up to $200. No check may be issued in an amount exceeding $200 without two authorized signatures.
